Honoring God, Exalting Jesus, and Blessing Our Legislature: A Day of Prayer, Praise, and Worship
February 16, 2026
For many years, Restore Minnesota has joined with Pastors and Ministries statewide to gather at our State Capitol the day before session and pray for our state and leaders. This year is a collaboration of various ministry teams and prayer initiatives in the Minnesota Government Prayer Alliance, focusing on Blessing our Legislators and Exalting Jesus for the Welfare of Minnesota. They will lead multiple events throughout the day starting at 10 am. It all comes together at the end, with Restore Minnesota's Church in the Capitol at 3:30 pm, when believers gather in the Capitol Rotunda to Pray, Praise, and Worship. Rev. Dale Witherington will be sharing a timely message.
Our legislators are navigating an environment skewed toward a secular humanistic mindset. All too often we see justice turned upside down. Minnesotans are faced with apathy, discouragement, and feeling overwhelmed with a constantly changing news cycle.
Thankfully Christ is the Calm in the Storm.
And, Minnesota is ripe for revival.
God is stirring hearts and people are waking up. Prayer aligns our hearts to the Lord's will. Prayer gives us direction into action. So mark your calendars and bring a friend to join us as we turn our hearts to the Lord.
If work schedules or the distance make it impossible to join in person, find a few friends and dedicate focused time to pray for our State and our Legislators on Monday Feb. 16th!

Holy Spirit-led Engagement |
|
A key phrase in our Restore Minnesota Mission Statement, perhaps the key phrase, is the phrase “Holy Spirit-led engagement.”
Depending on your church/denominational affiliation, the term “Holy Spirit-led” has a multiplicity of potential meanings, some much more positive than others. I relate to this because in my life as a Christian (another term with multiple meanings in today’s world), I’ve learned through personal experience that the Holy Spirit is not limited in the way He chooses to lead.
God does not like to be put into a box. He especially doesn’t like being put into a well-defined systematically stated, denominationally pure theological box. Just ask the guy who was healed of blindness by Jesus when Jesus spit into some dirt, made mud, wiped it on the guy’s eyes, wiped it off and – voila! – the man could see. Or, ask the woman with the constant blood flow who believed if she only could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be healed. She did and she was.
God is not our God-in-the-box.
Why am I bringing this up? I’m glad you asked!
On February 17, the State Legislature in Minnesota opens for business. Two hundred-one legislators will go to work and create laws that will impact the lives of over 5 million Minnesotans.
You and I have a role to play into which laws get enacted
and which do not.
Becoming an active participant in a Restore Minnesota Community Action Team (CAT) can be a place where the Holy Spirit can use you to make a positive impact in our homes, communities, counties and state. For you, that impact may or may not be in the political realm. Nonetheless, you are called to make a Godly impact. Jesus called it being Salt & Light.
Most of us don’t need the miracle of mud on our eyes or the touch of the hem of Jesus’ garment for healing. Most of us need a miracle much more like Peter’s.
Get out of the boat (aka your comfort zone) and start walking. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Lean into the Holy Spirit. He is calling us to partner with Him to Restore Righteousness in Minnesota. Being Salt & Light is not an option. The only option we have is what type of Salt & Light we will be.
To where or to what is He calling you?

As our Nation's Independence Day draws near and we prepare to celebrate 250 years of liberty, let us work to make this a year full of mini celebrations. We will be sharing planned activities and events over the next months but what can you do to celebrate our Nation's heritage of Freedom and Biblical foundations in your neighborhood, community, city, or county? Perhaps it could be flag waving, rallies, freedom fests, picnics, music festivals, or other creative ideas.
This nation is worth celebrating! It was founded as "one nation under God" and we must earnestly pray for that bold reality to take hold of our citizens hearts and minds again. Pray also that these celebrations at every level will bring a new unity to dispel the growing disunity across our country.
May God bless America! |
