The Voice of God
by Dale Witherington

As I write these words, here is what we know:
  • Donald J. Trump has been re-elected as President of the United States in an historic fashion.
  • The US Senate will now be led by the Republican Party.
  • The US House is likely to be led by the Republican Party.
  • Tim Walz has limped back to Minnesota personally bruised and battered to govern for two more years apparently without a DFL trifecta.
  • The Minnesota Senate remains DFL-led. We wait for justice regarding Senator Nicole Mitchell and her caught-in-the-act criminal arrest. (Imagine if a Republican Senator had done what she did!)
  • The Minnesota House will likely recount two races to determine if there is an equal split, 67-67, Republican and Democrat, or if Republicans have taken the majority, 68-66 or 69-65. Again, as of this writing, we wait.

We ask, “Now what?”

Last week I was given a gift by a brother in the Lord who has a large international ministry in some of the most intimidating places in the world. The gift is the book “Historical Collections of Accounts of Revival” by John Gillies. It was originally published in 1754! It is a treasure.

The Editor’s Preface in the expanded 1845 edition begins,

“The world is still sleeping its ‘sleep of death’. . . The multitude has always slept, but there has been a little flock awake. Even in the world’s deepest midnight there have always been children of the light and of the day. In the midst of a slumbering world some have been in every age awake. God’s voice has reached them, and His mighty power has raised them, and they walked the earth, awake among sleepers, the living among the dead.”

The editor makes a point that this book is not the history of the sleeping many but of the waking few.

I emphasized the words “God’s voice has reached them” because those were the words that jumped off the page to me concerning Restore Minnesota (and beyond). They came to life for me because they remind me that our mission, our cause, is more about representing the voice and words of God in the marketplace than it is about who wins or loses any political race. It is about helping people find their purpose and calling in life, and then helping them to fulfill that call for the advancement of the culture of the kingdom of God on earth as in heaven.

Considering the makeup of our Community Action Teams (CATs) and readership, I suspect the large majority are celebrating the political “red wave” that just washed over our nation. I am also sure there are some reading these words who are grieving and mourning because your candidate(s) did not win.

It is no secret that I am among those who are delighted that Donald Trump’s new administration is going to the White House. But, let’s be clear: Donald Trump is not the savior of America or the world. I was at his event in Charlotte on October 21st when he and several others made it clear that the only Savior of the world is Jesus Christ. Yes, that is what he believes. Apparently, we were at the right rally.

Our “red wave” is not the Republican Party.
Ours is the blood of Jesus.

Our work is not finished. Not by a long shot. In fact, our work is just beginning. Our “red wave” is not the Republican Party. Ours is the blood of Jesus. We have a definitive mission and vision to strive towards. The time now is to double-down. The time is now for more CATs to rise up in our 87 counties. The time is now for CATs to spring up in the more than 3,000 counties in these United States. The time is now to accurately represent the voice of God, the Word of God, in our homes and communities more than ever before.

By the grace of God we are among the children of the light and day. By the grace of God we are among the little flock of those who are awake. The time is now for each of us to pray, “Oh, God! Help me be Your voice.”

We still have a multitude of sleepers to wake up.

Elective vs Spontaneous Abortion:
No one chooses a Miscarriage
by Sara Bertschinger, RN

Pro-abortionists like to confuse definitions to create confusion and false sympathy. Multiple times over the last few years I have heard pro-abortionists say women suffering miscarriages will be in danger of losing care. The narrative is that D&Cs will be banned and women will die. Nothing could be further from the truth! What the pro-abortion movement is trying to do is equate elective abortion with a natural miscarriage.

What is a D&C?
“A D&C is a procedure used to evacuate, or empty out, a uterus. If the D&C is done when there is fetal cardiac activity, you are effectively ending the pregnancy, thus it’s an abortion. If you are evacuating a miscarriage/pregnancy loss, it is just a D&C for a miscarriage,” says Dr. Sarah Bjorkman, a board-certified OB-GYN and Motherly’s Maternal Health Advisor, who practices in Iowa .

According to Mayo Clinic: Dilation and curettage (D&C) - Mayo Clinic, "Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a procedure to remove tissue from inside your uterus. Health care professionals perform dilation and curettage to diagnose and treat certain uterine conditions - such as heavy bleeding - or to clear the uterine lining after a miscarriage or abortion."

In Layman Terms
D&C is a medical procedure developed to save life! D&C are used for polyps, cancer, and complications during childbirth. Sometimes, after a safe delivery of a healthy child, parts of the placenta remain in the womb. If left inside, this tissue will decay and cause an infection. This is why nurses check over the placenta and umbilical cord to make sure nothing has torn away.

The trauma of a miscarriage or stillbirth increases the risk of fetal tissue remaining behind in the womb and is only detected after an infection sets in. An emergency D&C is then performed to remove the dead tissue and save the life of the mother.

Elective vs Spontaneous Abortion
An Elective Abortion is the termination of the pregnancy by the will of another. A Spontaneous Abortion is the untimely but natural death of an unborn baby. The womb then works to expel the dead child and tissues.  This is a miscarriage. An elective abortion is never a miscarriage.

The difference between a medically required D&C and one used in an Abortion setting is the life status of the unborn baby. In an Abortion setting the child's life is purposefully terminated and if the child's remains are too large to pass then a D&C (dilation and curettage) is performed.

The Complications of Chemical Abortion
I'm sure we have all heard of the recent tragic deaths of mothers who waited too long to go to the hospital. The pro-abortion movement is using these tragic stories as an example of why we need unrestrained abortion. What they don't tell us is that these deaths were the result of a chemical abortion. These women took the abortion pill, which is often available by mail. Unfortunately, not all of the now dead fetal tissue was expelled and these mothers became septic. At this point, emergency medical attention is of the essence! Any Emergency Room would treat these women and provide a life saving D&C. However, these women believed the abortion rhetoric that D&Cs were now illegal and they would be refused care. They women did not die due to lack of available medical treatment but rather due to the abortion procurer and rhetoric.

Reclaim the Narrative!
All too often I hear the abortion movement equate early term abortion with a miscarriage. They are fundamentally different and is an insult to anyone who has suffered through the early death of their child. Reclaim the Term! Reclaim the Narrative! D&Cs were created to save life! They are not a means to end an unwanted pregnancy. Abortion as birth control should not be the answer. Women should not be scared into shying away from medical treatment. Women should not be made to feel like abortion is their only option!

Engaging in the Culture War
by Dan Montague, Senior Steward & Editor

The 2024 general election is down to just a few contests yet to be settled, but like the picture above, there is a new day dawning in this wonderful land called the United States of America. However, even though we have won a decisive battle, the culture war continues. Now, as much as ever, it requires our ongoing engagement of prayer and Holy Spirit led activism.

Sara's article above describes one of the most important battlefields for us as the Body of Christ to engage in. We need to help our society have a change of heart to choose life not death.

In this 2024 election, there were ten states that had "Abortion" on their ballots to in some way codify the taking of innocent, unborn life into their state constitutions. Three states rejected these amendments, but the people in SEVEN STATES approved of a pro-abortion measure, including "red" states like Montana and Missouri.
Right-to-abortion amendments adopted in seven states and rejected in three; Nebraska approved constitutional abortion limits amendment – Ballotpedia News

So, we take a few moments to celebrate the many hard-fought victories in this 2024 Election. We catch our breathe. We reflect. We congratulate those who won their races. We congratulate those who missed by just a little for their dedication and effort.

But, we must pray that truth will invade the thinking of so many who have been caught up in wrong ideologies and now find themselves distraught and disillusioned.

Groups like our Community Action Teams now must become even more viable to influence and impact our communities and counties. Even as we talk about Congressional seats being flipped, we desire to engage and flip the Seven Mountains of Culture and truly look at them as Mission Fields that desperately need the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

While so many have worked so hard to just get to this point, we are really only beginning in the Kingdom work to help bring reformation to our land. God has shown us that He acknowledges the truism spoken by John Quincy Adams ...

"Duty is ours, results are God's."

I am convinced that as we do our part, our assignment, He is ready to move in ways that are beyond what we can even think or imagine. Our country is not just being saved, it is coming into a true Great Awakening, along with the rest of the world.

The Purpose and Mission of Restore Minnesota is to restore righteousness to our state. The strategy to do that is through developing Community Action Teams in all of the 87 counties. We currently have 13 active Community Action Teams serving at least 15 different counties. These meetings are private, by personal invitation only.
