Well, it’s done . . . or is it?
All reports seem to indicate that both major political parties in Minnesota were anything but a “party.” It seems that chaos reigned once again and we now move from “endorsement season” to “primary season.” Maybe it’s time to eliminate the endorsement process altogether. But, that’s a discussion for another time.
On the political front, Minnesota remains just a seat or two away from either party controlling both the House and the Senate. Will the Governor’s race produce another trifecta or . . . ?
While both political parties are doing their best to win the coveted trifecta in Minnesota, at Restore Minnesota, we understand that no matter what happens in November, we actually serve the most powerful, unchanging, never-chaotic, incomparable “trifecta” in the universe, namely, the Holy “Trifecta” of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. No matter who wins in November, our “Trifecta” reigns now and forevermore.
That said, we must never use this as an excuse not to participate. It is a Christian’s duty from God, as obedient citizens in the nation in which we are placed, to partner with God in selecting our leaders. Yes, we know God selects and deposes kings (Daniel 2:21). But, have you ever thought that in our republican form of government and the democratic manner in which our leaders are chosen, there may be times when God’s preferred (chosen) office holder does not take office because God’s people did not show up to vote him or her into office? You might consider meditating on that idea for a bit. God calls His people to show up.
Speaking of showing up, God’s people showed up in great numbers for the Rededicate 250 celebration in Washington DC on May 17.
Go to YouTube and search “Rededicate 250” to catch the events of the day. There are many choices. Here is the official recording ... worship starts at the 19:50 mark. Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving
Sue and I were blessed to be there in person along with our dear friends and colleagues in ministry, Dan & Barb Montague and our extremely generous hosts, Ken & Carrie Beaudry.
In addition to sitting so close to the stage (we were all almost part of the band), we had significant time with our Congressman, Majority Whip Tom Emmer and his staff. Suffice it to say that God is moving in Washington DC no matter what you may or may not see or hear from the news media. By the way, the view of DC from outside on the top of the Capitol dome is stunning. And we only had to climb 300 additional stairs to get there!! (Of course, that means going down an additional 300 stairs as well!) There are a few pictures our Washington DC adventure below.
The trip to DC was my second in less than a month, as I was privileged to host a team of pastors just a few weeks prior to the Rededicate 250 event. There is a sense of feeling at home in DC even though I’ve never lived there or near there. It’s a magnificent place to honor God and do ministry for our nation’s leaders.
God is not only opening doors in DC, he is opening doors in different parts of the nation. Sue and I just spent several days in Ohio ministering at the East Regional for FMCI (the Federation of Ministries and Churches International) whose founder is Jim Hodges, the spiritual father of our friend, Dutch Sheets. I was honored to be one of the speakers and panel members teaching others about the work of our Community Action Teams throughout Minnesota. Stay tuned. There were some great connections and more open doors as a result!
Soon after receiving this newsletter, Sue and I will be ministering in Rapid City, South Dakota, speaking to two TPUSA Faith groups, as well as at Landmark Community Church, home of our friend Pastor and former State Representative Scott Craig. When we return, we’ll soon pack up and head to Tennessee, where we will meet again with Dan and Barb Montague as we strategize with several of our connections there about launching Transform Tennessee, their version of Restore Minnesota.
The rest of the summer could include trips to Texas (confirmed), Arizona, Colorado and Florida all for the expansion of Restore Minnesota. As I said above, God is on the move. Apparently, we’re all moving with Him at a more rapid pace!
Pray for the completion and publication of our newest books. The first looks like it will be “The Ministry of Business Ownership.” We’ve already done a first presentation on the subject to remarkable response. We think this will be a real winner in the Business/Commerce Mission field.
Also, pray for the completion and publication of our major work, "The Comprehensive New Testament: From Genesis to Revelation." This will be a tremendous resource in our Institute for Biblical Citizenship.
So much happening and we’re just getting started. Thank you for your encouragement and support! We need every one of you with us!!
God bless you, God bless Minnesota and God bless America! We cannot survive without it!
