Things Are Heating Up!
It’s summertime in Minnesota and things are heating up for Restore Minnesota!

  • The month of May wrapped up with two very full weeks of RestoreMN-related events. During May 21-23, I attended an event for pastors and ministry leaders just outside Dallas, TX. It was by far the most challenging event physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually I have ever experienced in my lifetime, including our college football “hell weeks”! It just might also be the beginning of the most significant life-transforming journey I get to experience going forward. Perhaps God is calling you to experience this for yourself or someone you care about as well. I invite you to check out Rise Up Kings and Rise Up Queens.   • Sue and I had the privilege of hosting international ministers Bill & Faye Byers during the last week of May. Bill has ministered in countries where Americans, especially American Christians, are not welcome. We brought them in to help us minister to our elected officials at our first ever Civic Leaders Retreat held at Land of Promise in St. Michael, MN. Although the current state of Minnesota politics is stymied and prevented a large turnout, those who attended were dramatically touched by God.

  • We wrapped up May by helping lead Yeshua’s March at the State Capitol. Bill Byers gave a riveting talk on the theme “The Fatherhood of God,” which was the theme of our Civic Leaders Retreat the day before. When we bring Bill and Faye back to Minnesota, you’ll want to be a part!

  • We have been invited to do our first book signing before and after the services at Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, MN on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. Our book, Courageous Christianity: Living a Life of Faith in a World that Desperately Needs Jesus, hit the #1 new book release level on Amazon in the area of Christian Stewardship!

  • Our next two Courageous Christianity: Discovering Your God-given Assignment and Living It Out workshops will be held on June 13-15 at Bridgeview Church in Big Lake, MN and June 27-29 hosted by Adoration Church of La Crosse, WI and La Crescent Minnesota Marketplace Ministries. These are open to all, so join us and invite others.

  • Finally for this month, I invite you to check out our weekly program “Choose Freedom” (still showing as Dangerous Christianity) at EncounterTruth.com. There are several great programs on this platform and the subscription price is minimal. I believe it is still about $9 per month. The site is going through a major upgrade but it is still worth checking out. We are on hiatus until July 9. Check out the offerings!

Legislative Recap – 2025
Republican Wins & Democrat Hold-Outs

We have finally arrived in early summer! Although the official legislative session ended on May 19th, a significant amount of unfinished business remains to be accomplished.

This is in large part due to the fact that the House Democrats boycotted the first twenty-three days of session. It is also due to the fact that some members of the Democrat Caucus are holding up progress on bills, even though Democrat leadership and Republican leadership have already worked out bipartisan agreements on them.

There are nine remaining bills to be voted on by the Legislature. It is up to Governor Walz to call a special session in order to deal with this unfinished business, but he will not call it until both parties have reached agreements on these bills. The legislature has until July 1st to deal with these remaining bills, or there will be at least a partial government shut down.

1.  Take the Leap! Start a Group!
  • “No one can do everything but everyone can do something.”  
  • Find 1 person like you and start a group.  Something is better than nothing.  We dig through a mountain by persistently chipping away at the rock.
  • Choose a Name.
  • Commit to following the Restore MN Mission Statement and the Five Pillars for developing a Community Action Team.
  • Pick a routine and meet regularly in person if possible, to encourage, share, problem solve and motivate. Having a routine meeting also can help facilitate welcoming new participants.
  • Reach out and build your crew.

We currently have 13 active Community Action Teams that impact their own county and other surrounding communities.
